The Fall of the House of Usher
The Fall of the House of Usher (Westwind Media) strikes a nice balance between a straight text-based program and full-blown multimedia. By adding strong art direction, a fine sound track, and persuasive narration, the story is brought to life but never overwhelmed. There is a formal discussion available on each page, a series of essays on Poe’s work, a bibliography, and a glossary. Even the addictive maze game of Poe trivia is good. While this is clearly designed as a study guide for high school students, it is so well done that readers of any age will find it entertaining.
