Allie’s Activity Kit

The best part of Allie’s Activity Kit (Opcode Interactive – ages 3-6) is the opening animation of Allie (a green alien) whizzing around in a spaceship. There’s a similar segment at the end. One young reviewer found opening and closing the program the most satisfying part of the experience. In between these moments, you’ll find 16 activities like Connect the Dots, Color by Numbers, Memory Match, Puzzles, Draw with Shapes, and so on. Playing each once is often enough. The Wacky 3D Movie Room has a module with 3D shapes, with modifiable noises that, once it’s moving, can be viewed with 3D glasses that come with the program. This too is a one-time thrill, but more fun than some of the others. There’s nothing here you can’t find on other, better programs or that you can’t do the old-fashioned way: with pencil and paper.
