Poetry in Motion

Poetry in Motion (The Voyager Co.) is already a classic. This very simple title showcases the work of 24 poets, including Amiri Baraka, Bill Burroughs, John Cage, Allen Ginsberg, and Tom Waits. There is nothing tricky here, just a table of contents with the names of the poets. Click on one and go to a screen with a video window for the reading and another for a video interview (not available for every poet). You can bring up the recited text or the published text. That’s it. No biographical information, no bibliography, no caption of when or where – just the work. It would be nice to have more – there’s certainly room for it – but it doesn’t really matter. This is such an appealing, self-contained work that it manages to hold its own despite the light content.
