London: A Multimedia Tour
London: A Multimedia Tour (Media Design Interactive) promises to be more than a guide book. It wants to give you a feeling for the city. It does try. You can explore by way of a number of slide shows highlighting people, landmarks, and tourist attractions. An A-Z index of London locations indicates which ones have accompanying videos. Unfortunately, the videos are tiny and often blurry. Some are meaningless, like the ten seconds of traffic at Oxford Street or birds chirping in Hyde Park. The slide shows offer a mix of standard postcard scenes with some fresh images, often with only one or two sentences of explanation. This title is a very basic introduction to the city and one that you could get just as easily from a good book or video.
