The Escape of Marvin the Ape

The Escape of Marvin the Ape(Vroom Books/T/Maker – ages 3 & up), is now available for the PC. Jonathan Winters narrates this tale of an ape’s escape from the zoo and his resulting adventures in New York City. Mr. Winters’ actual number of lines is quite small; most of the program is devoted to point-and-click storybook pages, where cute animations and sound effects keep things busy without really adding anything to the story. The pictures are big and colorful, and a peanut gallery of worms will add even more humor and color if you let them (click on one to bring him or her into the action). A multiple language feature – English, French, German, or Spanish – is a nice touch. Vroom Books is carving out a place for themselves with their simple but well-executed discs for very little kids.
