Mooky Takes Manhattan

In Mooky Takes Manhattan (Teach Your Children series, Simon & Schuster - ages 4-9), Mooky, the wacky green monster, takes you on a tour of various fractured New York City landmarks – Shockefeller Center, FAO Wartz, the Vampire State Building. You can get to each on foot, which takes you to a street scene with lots of hot buttons, or by taxi, which gets you to the front door. There are nine activities embedded in the story, such as building a monster using components, a sing-along “Mookyoke,” billboard-making for Slimes Square, customized animations of Mooky’s pet monster, Spot, and so on. There’s nothing particularly new on this disc, but kids love the silly, over-the-top humor, and enjoy spending several hours exploring the Big Apple with Mooky.
